Good Afternoon Wayne, In answer to your enquiry, as far as is known when the PSV Driver licencing function was transferred to the DVLA at Swansea all the records were (I assume after a time) destroyed.
I have made attempts myself to find out off the Traffic Area offices what has happened to the records but to no avail.
It is of course now 25 years since badges were issued (ending on 31st March 1991), and the chances that anybody is left in the Traffic Area offices who remembers those times is pretty slim.
The only other way of finding out is to contact the Company who he worked for. They may still have staff records and the badge number could be on there (a slim chance).
I do believe that the Tramway Museum at Crich have a ledger of badge numbers but you would need to know the number to find it, and that is what you are after.
Still it may be worth a try, but they do charge for the service, and as I say they do not have all the records.
Hope that helps.
If there is anything else I can do let me know.
All the best
Hello I am originally from coalville Leicestershire . I was a conductor on the midland red in 1968 and later in 1974 got my psv licence. I have lived in Canada since the late 1970 s. I cleared my mothers house out in 2013 and was unable to find my badges and licences. Is there anyway for me to get my old PSV numbers ? Thanks in advance for anyone who can offer help with this
